The Ariel String Quartet
Gershon Gerchikov, violin; Alexandra Kazovsky, violin; Jan Grüning, viola;
Amit Even-Tov, cello
Audience members of all ages were wowed by the Ariel String Quartet on October 18, 2011 matinee recital at Church of the Palms in Sarasota, Florida. Repertoire performed included Mozart's String Quartet No. 15 in D minor, K. 421 and Brahms' String Quartet in C minor, Op. 51, No. 1. This was Southwest Florida's opportunity to welcome back the Ariel Quartet, familiar faces to audience members who have seen these young musicians grow up through The Perlman Music Program Sarasota Winter Residency... and a warm welcome to their newest member, violist, Jan Grüning. This afternoon of incredible music was followed by an extensive Q&A session with audience members.
The Ariel String Quartet performed this public recital as part of their intensive daily schedule of visiting local schools, October 12-18, 2011.
The Ariel Quartet returns in late January and in early May for the second and third weeks of a three-week in-school artist-in-residency program and public recitals.
